Sold my position in Open Text Corp. (OTEX) @16,78 for a gain of 6,8% mainly because of the earning announcement which is scheduled for tomorrow after market close.

Yesterday Hoku Scientific, Inc. (HOKU) published earnings:

• Hoku Shares Surge on Third-Quarter Profit

Stock is up around 18% @10,80. I think I will sell half of my shares here and hold the other half a little bit longer (provided with an stop loss in the "green territory")

Yesterday I bought Integra Lifesciences Holdings Corp. (IART) per stop buy @36,45. A quite nice run up yesterday in the stock (closed @37,91). My target range is here from 38,8 to 39,7.

AMR Corp. (AMR)

Covered my shortposition @18,26 for a gain of 6,9%. (18 maybe a support here for the stock...)

• Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (TSM) will open with a gap down (around 4% / 9,70) on the Intel news today. I think I will do nothing here...
  

Berry Petroleum Co. (BRY)

Sold my shares @74,20 for a gain of 12,63% (bought @65,88 after stock was above my buy trigger @66,41 last week)

What a nice breakout! (Well, sometimes you need a little bit of luck and good news too... Berry Petroleum Utah Drilling Successful)

Trading ETF's

In addition to stocks I will test my strategy on ETF's this year.

I just finished my "backtest" on the QQQQ for last year on daily, weekly & monthly "trading".

• Gain on my weekly strategy: 24,4% (before comissions etc.)
  
• Gain on my daily strategy: 32,6% (before comissions etc.)
• no trade on my monthly strategy

So that looks pretty fine in comparison to the result of an buy and hold strategy on the QQQQ's for last year....

Nevertheless the expected gains are lower than in stock trading but the risk is also much lower (in terms of initial stops, possible losses and overnight risk (i.e. bad or good announcements by companies))

In addition I will track the following ETF's (only on weekly & monthly basis):

• SPDRs (SPY)
• iShares Russell 2000 Index (IWM)
• MidCap SPDRs (MDY)
• ML SEMICOND HLDR1240 (SMH)
• Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE)
• OIL SERVICE HOLDRS T (OIH)
• Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF)
• ML BIOTECH HLDR12/39 (BBH)
• iShares MSCI Japan Index (EWJ)
• streetTRACKS Gold Shares (GLD)

We will see how this works out...

By the way: the first "daily" trade on the QQQQ's was Long on 01/04/06 @41,51 > sold @43,23 for a gain of 4,14%.

Bio-Reference Laboratories Inc. (BRLI)

Covered my short position in Bio-Reference Laboratories Inc. (BRLI) @ 18,64 last week for a loss of 4%. The main reason was the fiscal year end earnings call whis is scheduled for tomorrow.

I'm holding on to my position of ProLogis (PLD) where I have moved my stop loss a little bit higher (still wating for the 48 here...)

The next update on my weekly trading strategy will be next week. If I can find interestung stocks for my monthly trading horizon (holding time from one to five months - sometimes longer...) I will post it tomorrow or friday.
